Job DescriptionJob Title Mechanical EngineerDepartment R & DReporting to Andrew HamshereSalary £23.5 – 35K (Dependent on experience)Location Cressex Business ParkHigh WycombeBuckinghamshireMain Purpose of the JobWorking as part of an energetic and exciting multidisciplinary R&D team this role acts as the main facilitator for NewProduct Introduction, with overall responsibility for product data management across a full cradle to grave life cycle.Detailed Duties of the Jobï€ï€ Design for manufacture, including the design and engineering of new products, selecting manufacturing methods,location, and materials.ï€ Creating and maintaining bills of materials, parts lists.ï€ï€ Assessing manufacturing methods, assembly, production, installation, servicing and maintenance to minimise cost.ï€ï€ Risk assessment and failure mode and effects analysis.ï€ï€ Engineering analysis including stress/strain calculations, using FEA software.ï€ï€ Putting in place procedures to manage the above.ï€ï€ Testing and problem solving design features on development projects and on-going production.ï€ï€ Documentation installation, servicing and maintenance regimes.ï€ï€ Maintaining TCFs and DoC literature for products including identifying all relevant safety and test standards.ï€ï€ Continuation engineering duties for substitute parts, suppliers and sub-contractors.ï€ï€ Project management of assigned projects/work packages.Essential Qualification and Skills Required*2:2 or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline to (BEng or equivalent qualification).Experience working within a Production/NPI/QA engineering role at a SME manufacturing company, will consider a solidbackground/Education in the field if experience is limited.Written and Verbal communication skills (English).*Must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction*Must hold a valid UK driving license or hold a license permitted in the UKDesirable FactorsGood AutoCAD skills with Solidworks.Knowledge of business and production management systems MRP/ERPExperiencing of dealing with maintaining relationships and product quality with sub-contract suppliers for bespokeassemblies.Knowledge of CE marking requirements particularly in relation to the Machinery Directive.Structured DFM training and Lean/ 5S/ Kaisen experience highly beneficial.A willingness to add to skill set with programming, web languages, firmware, C+Competencies required for the position of New Product Facilitator * Self-starter; * Able to organise and prioritise workload effectively * Proactive and confident to show initiative * Responsible and reliable individual * Methodical and analytical approach * Able to follow through on projects to completion * Able to create and deliver reports accurately and professionally.
